One of
the saddest things in a Woman's life...
Is to believe the child within
her is gone forever...
She is only playing hide and
seek...
-
I dedicate this page for those
who have mums that love us unconditionally and equally forever.
-
-
-
-
M is for the million
things she gave me,
- O means only that she's
growing old,
- T is for the tears she
shed to save me,
- H is
for her heart of purest gold;
- E is for her eyes with
love-light shining,
- R means right, and right
she'll always be,
- Put them all together, they
spell MOTHER

- A MOTHER LOVE
-
- If I live in a house of
spotless beauty with everything in it's place,
but have not love, I am a "housekeeper"-not a homemaker.
- If I have time for
waxing, polishing, and decorative achievements,
but have not love, My children learn of cleanliness-not godliness.
- Love leaves the
dust, and goes
in search of a child's laugh.
- Love smiles at the tiny
fingerprints on a newly cleaned window.
- Love wipes away the tears
before it wipes up the spilled milk.
- Love picks up the child before
it picks up the toys.
- Love is present through trials.
- Love reprimands,
reproves, and is
responsive.
- Love crawls with the
baby, walks
with the toddler, runs with the child,
then stands aside to let the youth walk into adulthood.
- Love is the key that opens
salvation's message to a child's heart.
Before I became a mother, I took glory in my house of perfection.
Now I glory in God's perfection of my child.
- As a mother,
there is MUCH I
must teach my child,
But the greatest of these is LOVE.

-
- Your confidence in me helped me

- You taught me to think my own
thoughts and to follow my own dreams,
- To be proud of my achievements
and accepting of my mistakes;
- To find peace in each sunset
and joy in each sunrise ...to love my life ...
- You knew what to say and how to
listen to help me through the rough times
- And to make the good times even
more wonderful.
- I took it for granted \that
you'd be there when I needed you ... and you always were.
- As I grew older, I made many
new friends, but of all the kindness they have shown me,
- Your understanding is still the
deepest, your companionship the warmest,
- And your support the most
generous.
- I thank you, Mother, for all
you have been to me
- my first friend ... and my best
friend!

- A MOTHER'S
PRAYER
-
- In the quiet of the night I
watch you sleep.
- As I tuck you in and
savior
the
gentle sounds.
- I glance through the window and
whisper out loud..
- God, have I been the Mother you
wanted me to be.
- Have I held my children up and
taught them to see.
- Have I shown them that love
should always be shared
- Have I taught them compassion
and reasons to care...
- Have I explained the values by
which You want us to live.
- Have I taught them humility and
reasons to give..
- Have I shown them that life
can't always be fair..
- Have I taught them that You
will always be there.
- As I glance through the window
You help me to see
- That I am being the best mother
that I can possibly be...

- MY MOTHER
-
- And who fed me from her gentle
breasts,
- And hush me in her arms to
rest,
- And on my cheeks sweet kisses
pressed?
- My Mother.
- When sleep forsook my open eyes
- Who was it sang sweet hushaby,
- And rocked me that I should not
cry?
- My Mother.
- Who sat and watch my infant
head
- When sleeping on my cradle bed,
- And tears of sweet affection
shed?
- My Mother.
- When pain and sickness made me
cry
- Who o gazed upon my heavy eye,
- And wept for fear that I should
die?
- My Mother.
- Who dressed my doll in clothes
so gay,
- And taught me pretty how to
play,
- And minded all I had to say?
- My Mother.
- Who ran to help me when I fall,
- And would some pretty story
tell,
- Or kiss the place to make it
well?
- My Mother.
- Who taught my infant lips to
pray
- And love God's holy book and
day,
- And walk in wisdom's pleasant
way?
- My Mother.
- And can I ever cease to
be
- Affectionate and kind to thee,
- Who wast so very kind to me?
- My Mother?
- Ah, no! the thought I cannot
bear,
- And if God please my life to
spare
- I hope I shall reward thy care,
- My Mother.
- When thou art feeble, old and
grey
- My healthy arm shall be thy
stay,
- And I will soothe thy pains
away,
- My Mother.
- And when I see thee hang thy
head
- Twill be my turn to watch thy
bed,
- And tears of sweet affection
shed,
- My Mother.

-
- A kiss when I wake in the
morning,
- A kiss when I go to bed,
- A kiss when I burn my finger,
- A kiss when I bump my head.
-
- A kiss when my bath is over,
- A kiss when my bath begins;
- My mamma is full of kisses
- As nurse is full of pins.
-
- A kiss when I play with my

- A kiss when I pull her hair;
- She covered me over with kisses
- The day when I fell downstairs.

MOTHER'S LOVE
-
- A Mothers' Love is like an
island
- In life's ocean vast and wide,
- A peaceful quite shelter
- From the restless, rising
tide....
-
- A Mothers' Love is like
fortress
- And we seek protection there
- When the waves of tribulation
- Seem to drown us in despair.
-
- A Mother's Love a sanctuary
- Where our souls can find sweet
rest
- From the struggle and tension
- Of life's fast and futile
quest...
-
- A Mother's Love is like a tower
- Rising far above the crowd,
- And her smile is like the
sunshine
- Breaking through a threatening
cloud...
-
- A Mother's Love is like a
beacon
- Burning bright with Faith and
Prayer
- And though the changing scenes
of life
- We can find a Haven There
-
- For a Mother's Love is
fashioned
- After God's enduring love,
- It is endless and unfailing
- Like the love of HIM above...

-
- A
MOTHER'S LOVE
-
- A mother's love is something
- That no one can explain,
- It is made of deep devotion
- And sacrifice and pain,
- It is endless and unselfish
- And enduring come what may
- For nothing can destroy it
- Or take that love away...
- It is patient and forgiving
- When all others forsaking,
- And it never fails or falters
- Even though the heart is
breaking...
- It believes beyond believing
- When the world around condemns,
- And it glows with all the
beauty
- Of the rarest brightest gems...
- It is far beyond defining,
- It defies all explanation,
- And it still remains a secret
- Like the mysteries of
creation....
-
- A many splendoured miracle
- Man cannot understand
- And another wondrous evidence
- Of Gods' tender guiding hand.

- WHERE THERE
IS LOVE
-
- Where there is love the heart
is light
- Where there is love the day is
bright
- Where there is love there is a
song
- To help when things are going
wrong...
- Where there is love there is a
smile
- To make all things seem more
worthwhile,
- Where there is love there's
quite peace
- A tranquil place where turmoil
cease...
- Love changes darkness into
light
- And makes the heart take
'wingless flight'...
- And Mothers have a special way
- Of filling homes with love each
day
- And when the home is filled
with love
- You'll always find God spoken
of,
- And when a 'prays together'
- That family also 'stays
together'
- And once again a Mother's touch
- Can mould and shape and do so
much
- To make this work a better
place
- For every colour, creed and
race-
- For when man walks with God
again,
- There shall be Peace on Earth
for Men.

- I MUST
NOT TEASE MY MOTHER
-
- I must not tease my mother,
- For she is very kind;
- And everything she says to me
- I must directly mind;
- For when I was a baby,
- And could not speak or walk,
- She let in her bosom sleep,
- And taught me how to talk.
-
- I must not tease my mother;
- And when she likes to read,
- Or has the headache, I will
step
- Most silently indeed:
- I will not choose a noisy play,
- Nor trifling troubles tell,
- But sit down quietly by her
side,
- And try to make her well.
- I must tease my mother;
- I heard my dear father say,
- When I was sick in my cradle
sick
- She nursed me night and day;
- She lays me in my little bed,
- She gives me clothes and food,
- And I have nothing else to pay
- But trying to be good.
- I must not tease my mother;
- She loves me all the day,
- And she has patience with my
faults,
- And teaches me to pray.
- How much I'll strive to please
her
- She every hour shall see;
- For should she go away to die
- What would become of me?

MOTHER
Alfred Williams
- Breathes a sound above all other
- Sweetest in the world to me;
- 'Tis the sacred name of mother,
- Lisped in earliest infancy.
-
- Ah1 I know not all the sorrow
- for my sake she meekly bore,
- But I know with every morrow
- In her heart she loved me more.
-
- Oft with tears and oft with kisses
- She rocked me into rest,
- Mingling with her soft caresses
- All the passion of her breast.
- Still I see her, pure and holy
- With Love's crown above her head,
- Moving near and stooping lowly
- O'er the childish cradle bed.
- Years have passed and time has found thee,
- Eyes once bright are bright no more,
- Mother! but a halo round thee
- Holier than the ones of yore.
How Moms Were Made By the time the Lord made
mothers, he was into the sixth day working overtime. An Angel appeared and
said "Why are you spending so much time on this one?" And the Lord
answered and said, "Have you read the spec sheet on her? She has to be
completely washable, but not plastic; have 200 movable parts, all
replaceable; run on black coffee and leftovers; have a lap that can hold
three children at one time and disappears when she stands up; have a kiss
that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart; and have six
pairs of hands." The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this
one. "Six pairs of hands! No Way!" said the Angel. The Lord
replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem. It's the three
pairs of eyes that mothers must have!" "And that's on the standard
model?" the Angel asked. The Lord nodded in agreement, "Yep, one
pair of eyes are to see through the closed door as she asks her children
what they are doing even though she already knows. Another pair in the back
of her head are to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she
can. And the third pair are here in the front of her head. They are for
looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or
her without even saying a single word." The Angel tried to stop the
Lord. "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to
finish." "But I can't!" the Lord protested, I am so close to
finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals
herself when she is sick AND can feed a family of six on a pound of
hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower." The
Angel moved closer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so
soft, Lord" "She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have
also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or
accomplish." "Will she be able to think?" asked the Angel.
The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able
to reason, and negotiate." The Angel then noticed something and reached
out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak
with this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this
one." "That's not a leak," the Lord objected. "That's a
tear!" "What's the tear for?" the Angel asked. The Lord said,
"The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her
disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride."
The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of
everything for this one. You even created the tear!" The Lord looked at
the Angel and smiled and said, "I'm afraid you are wrong again, my
friend. I created the woman, but she created the tear!"

IN THE HOME
If I live in a house of spotless beauty with everything in its place, but
have not love, I am a housekeeper--not a homemaker.
If I have time for waxing, polishing, and decorative achievements, but
have not love, my children learn cleanliness--not godliness.
Love leaves the dust in search of a child's laugh.
Love smiles at the tiny fingerprints on a newly cleaned window. Love wipes

child before it picks up the toys.
Love is present through the trials.
Love reprimands, reproves, and is responsive.

Before I became a mother I took glory in my house of perfection.
Now I glory in God's perfection of my child.
As a mother, there is much I must teach my child,
but the greatest of all is love.
How many of these do you remember MOM saying
I'm going to give you until the count of three.
Don't pick, it'll get infected.
I would have never talked to MY mother like that!
Who do you think you are?
I don't care what "everyone" is doing, I care what YOU are
doing!
What, you want more money? Well, the people in Hades want ice water,
but do you see me with a PITCHER?
If I catch you doing that one more time, I'll...
You had better wipe that smile off your face before I do it for you.
When you don't listen to your Mom, that's when you get into trouble.
Don't use that tone with me!
Someday your face will freeze like that!
What if everyone jumped off a cliff? Would you do it, too?
Look at me when I'm talking to you.
You're going to put your eye out with that.
Do you think your socks are going to pick themselves up?
Your father is going to hear about this when HE gets home!
How many times do I have to tell you...don't throw things in the house!
No, you can't go steady! You KNOW what that leads to.
Were you born in a barn? Close the door -- and DON'T slam it!
Don't EVER let me catch you doing that again!
Be good -- and don't do ANYTHING to embarrass your parents.
No child of MINE would do something like that.
I don't know is NOT an answer.
Don't put that in your mouth, you don't know where it's been.
If you don't do it NOW, then when are you going to do it?
Why? Because I SAID so, that's why?
"What the child says, he has heard at home."
Fear Not My Child
" Fear not my child, for I am here to hold your weary hand
I 'll give you strength and courage to live as I have
planned.
Have faith my child, for I am here
you'll never be alone, my light I'll shed upon you
should my will be not your own.
So take each day as it may come remember I am here
be not a prayer that goes unanswered
nor unfelt a single tear.
Have patience my child for sometimes my answer, is simply just to wait
your trust in me will prove to be
nothing less than great.
Remember child, you're not alone
for I am always here as long as I am in your heart you know longer have to fear "

You spend a lifetime trying to get them off the ground.
You run with them until you're both breathless.
They crash. They hit the rooftop.
You patch and comfort, adjust, and teach.
You watch them lifted by the wind and assure them that someday they'll fly.
Finally, they are airborne.
They need more string and you keep letting it out.
But with each twist of the ball of twine,
there is a sadness that goes with joy.
The kite becomes more distant,
and you know it won't be long before that beautiful
creature will snap the lifeline that binds you two
together and will soar as it is meant to soar,
free and alone.
Only then do you know that you did your job.
- WHEN GOD MADE MOMS
-
- When the good Lord
was creating mothers!!!!!
- He was into His
sixth day of "overtime when the angel appeared and said,
- "You're doing
a lot of fiddling around on this one."
- AND THE LORD
SAID....."Have you read the specs on this order?
- She has to be
completely washable, but not plastic.
- Have 180 moveable
parts... all replaceable.
- Run on black
coffee and leftovers.
- Have a lap that
disappears when she stands up,
- a kiss that can
cure anything from a broken leg
- to a disappointed
love affair, and six pairs of hands."
- And the angel
shook her head slowly and said,
- "Six pairs of
hands...no way."
- "It is not
the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord,
- It's the three
pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."
- "That's on the
standard model?" asked the angel.
- THE LORD
NODDED....One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks
- "What are you
kids doing in there?" when she already knows.
- Another here in the
back of her head that sees what she shouldn't,
- but what she has to
know;
- and of course the
ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs
- up and say,
- "I understand
and I love you", without so much as uttering a word."
- "Lord",
said the angel touching his sleeve gently, "go to bed,
- tomorrow...."
- "I can't",
said the Lord, "I'm so close to creating something so close to
- myself.
- Already I have one
who heals herself when she is sick....
- can feed a family of
six on one pound of hamburger,
- and can get a nine
year old to stand under a shower."
- The angel circled
the model of a mother very slowly.
- "It's too
soft", she sighed.
- "But
tough!" said the Lord excitedly.
- You cannot imagine
what this mother can do or endure."
- "Can it
think?"
- "Not only can
