Michael Kelland John Hutchence was born in Sydney on
January 22, 1960 and died in Sydney November 22, 1997. Michael's parents
Patricia & Kelland lived in Hong Kong for some time and Michael attended King
George V School.
On their return to Sydney again Michael meet Andrew Farris at Davidson high
School on our the northern beaches and were shortly
after joined by Garry Beers, Kirk Pengilly, Andrew, Jon and Tim Farris now to be
known as INXS.
Michael although quite introverted, became the spokesperson for the band and
with his talent of writing with Andrew Farris, but it was clearly Michael who
was the genius behind them.
Michael's
very private life was often reported in the here and internationally. He was
regularly seen photographed and dating
with our
Elle McPherson, Helena Christensen,
Kylie
Minogue.
&
Belinda Carlisle and our Kym Wilson.
In the later part of his life he was dating Paula Yates who was still married to
Bob Geldof and had a child, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence who was born
in 1996.
Sadly in 1997 he was found dead in his then room Carleton-Rex
in Elizabeth Bay , now Stamford
hotel, perhaps from an accidentally hanging, during a from autoerotic
asphyxiation. INXS last
album 'Elegantly
Wasted'
was release in April 1997 and it was during his promotional tour that he ended
up in Sydney. Complete shock and horror hearing that he
had died.
Paula came back to Australia for his funeral totally
in shock form Michael's untimely death
from which she never removed and she died 17th
September 2000 of a heroin overdose, leaving Tiger Lily
an orphan. She has lived with the Geldof family since
the death of her mum.
INXS song 'Never Tears Us Apart'
played in the background whilst his band carried him out of St Andrew's
Cathedral.
Strangely all Michael's fortune has never been recovered and much bickering
surrounds the family with where it went and Tiger Lily living with Sir Bob Geldof.
Like many before you Michael, you have died way too young, what ever the reason
you died is entirely up for speculation, but we will miss your talent forever.
Rest now peacefully.
